Dragon's Guildhall

Dragon’s Guildhall is a board game store located in Beavercreek, OH. They are across the street from Aspen Land Title Agency, which is how I learned of them! I was leaving a closing, and there they were. So if you know anything about me and my hobbies, I had to go and check them out.

What Dragon’s Guildhall Offers

Dragon’s Guildhall offers a variety of things, but mainly, it provides a community of gamers. So, they sell board games but also have games on-site and rooms available for you to show up and play. Of course, you can bring your games as well. There were several private rooms on-site and one giant room filled with many tables. I love that they have several games for you to pull and play. What’s even better is the private playing rooms. That is less common than you know, but they offer it at Dragon’s Guildhall!

Who Owns Dragon’s Guildhall?

I was able to have a conversation with one of the owners. It is owned by a mother and son duo. I spoke with her, and she told me they have official board game groups that come in weekly. They all have names for their group. So, this made me laugh because for as nerdy as my group of gamers is, why have we never given ourselves a name?! As I write this, it dawned on me that my husband has a name for us, but we have never used it publicly. I believe he calls us the GeekMastersGuild. I’ll have to ask him. Anyway, sorry, back to Dragon’s Guildhall. They have Warhammer, X-wing, costumes, and much more in addition to board games. The owner I spoke to was friendly, and I enjoyed talking with her. It was a very welcoming environment.

Navigating The Store

When you first walk in, you have board game’s to your left and right. Once you walk past those, if you go to your left, you have the X-wing and Warhammer items, and on your right, you will find the bathrooms and some concession items before entering the giant gaming room. The checkout counter is in the middle of the store, and so are the private gaming rooms and the kitchen. The rooms cost a small fee per person, and you will want to call ahead to book a room that fits your gaming party’s size. If you need the kitchen area for an epic long day of gameplay, know that you can not cook, but this room is for up to 18 people and features a sink and possible fridge space, but you must speak with them about what you need.
Dragon’s Guildhall offers more than just board games, though. They have several events that you can join. Magic The Gathering Events, Kill Team Events, and RPG Events are what they have listed on their website. If these interest you, give them a call for more information!

Final Thoughts

They have snack foods, drinks, and facilities available if you are thirsty or hungry or need to use the restroom. The snack foods and drinks are available for purchase.

In summary, I was impressed by Dragon’s Guildhall. I plan to return myself and enjoy their environment with my gamer group, you know, the GeekMastersGuild (HAHA). Indeed, I encourage you to stop over and browse their store. It’s leisurely and friendly; if not for anything else, you can look at the incredible artwork on the game boxes. But, of course, if you love art, that’s always entertaining, as most of them are impressive.
